The Roanoke Times – Miller: ACA initiatives threaten Virginia seniors’ health care

In Virginia more than 1.3 million seniors are covered by Medicare. While most of our recent news has centered around potential changes to the Affordable Care Act (“ACA”) exchange plans, Virginia’s seniors are not immune to the troubles of the ACA. The law created two federal programs that could disrupt seniors’ Medicare coverage — the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (“CMMI”) and the Independent Payment Advisory Board (“IPAB”).
